HISTORY AND MISSION
The idea of the Asia Pacific Society of Head and Neck Radiology was first conceived by Dr Salman Qureshi (UAE) sometime in 2023-24, inspired by a shared vision to create a dedicated academic platform for Head and Neck Radiology across the Asia-Pacific region. He subsequently brought together Dr. Varsha Joshi (India) and Dr. Ram Vaidhyanathan (UK), and what began as a simple exchange of ideas gradually evolved into a shared vision and a deeply collaborative mission to build a vibrant academic community for Head and Neck Radiology across the Asia-Pacific region.
Over the following months, numerous discussions unfolded over coffees, lunches, and virtual conversations, bringing together like-minded radiologists across the globe united by a passion for advancing the specialty. The vision continued to mature through interactions and meetings among the founding members at the ESHNR meetings in Sweden in 2023, Glasgow in 2024, and the annual meeting of the ISHNR in Rishikesh in 2025.
The group worked incessantly toward their collective goal and the dream finally took definitive shape in Bali during the first APSHNR Conference held on May 22–23, 2026, marking the formal birth of APSHNR - a society dedicated to fostering education, collaboration, research, mentorship, and excellence in Head and Neck Radiology across the Asia-Pacific region.
